Ravi Prasad Denomination: Lutheran Guntur,Andhra Pradesh, INDIA - Saturday, October 26, 2002 at 03:10:50 (CDT) Dear Rev.Pastor,
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus
Christ.
I am taking this opportunity with praise and thanks to
the Lord to share something about our association.
LUTHERAN FELLOWSHIP
The Lutheran Fellowship is an association of
like-minded Lutheran Pastors shepherding independent
Lutheran Congregations in rural areas of Andhra
Pradesh, INDIA.
Why Independent Lutheran Churches?
The rapid growth of independent splinter groups'
churches is creating a great confusion among the rural
believers with its teachings about salvation. With a
great stress they preach that a sinner can only be
saved by his good deeds. Thus the basic teaching of
the Bible as well as the Lutherans “Justification by
Faith” is ignored and hidden.
Even pastors of the established Lutheran Church of our
area has been forgotten the basic Lutheran concept of
Justification, and forced by themselves to teach what
the splinter groups preach, for their existence and
survival. More over the established churches are
becoming politicized ,institutionalized and slowly
loosing confidence.
At this juncture the LUTHERAN FELLOWSHIP is formed by
few Lutheran conscious Pastors burdened to preach the
Word of God as it is. We the members of the LUTHERAN
FELLOWSHIP gather twice in a month for the study of
Luther’s ideas on various aspects of life in and
around the church, and to equip ourselves to meet the
challenges of the independent splinter church leaders.
NATURE OF OUR CONGREGATIONS
Every congregation is independent and we together
nurture the members of our congregations with the pure
Lutheran doctrine
ACTIVITIES OF LUTHERAN FELLOWSHIP
1. LUTHER STUDY CENTRE
We started the Luther Study Centre to propagate
Luther’s Teachings. Because of their ignorance the
Lutherans are being attracted by the so called
independent splinter groups teachings. The Luther
Study Centre is striving to create awareness among the
Lutherans primarily and bring them back to the
Lutheran fold, and to reach the people that have anti
Lutheran concept and to create awareness in them that
the Lutheran Teachings are the Biblical Teachings.
The Luther Study Centre desires to have a collection
of Lutheran Literature and to translate some of them
at least in native language so that many readers come
to the knowledge of Luther and understand that the
Bible and Lutherans teach that the Bible is the true
Word of God, the sinner receives the free gift of
forgiveness not by doing good deeds but only by faith.
The repent sinner is saved by the grace of God through
faith. With this view the Luther Study Centre conducts
seminars, discussions, training programmes and crash
courses .The Luther Study Centre is printing tracts
and pamphlets, small books for distribution and
propagation of Lutheran Teachings.
2.LUTHER LIBRARIES:
Lutheran Fellowship wishes to have Luther Libraries in
their rural congregation to make avail of the Lutheran
Literature to the common believer. The translation of
the Lutheran Literature, the outcome of the seminars
and discussions are to be published and placed in
these libraries to strengthen the local Lutheran
congregations.
THE PRESENT POSITION OF LUTHERAN FELLOWSHIP:
It is a humble beginning comprising nine congregations
with ordained pastors and six evangelists. There is a
scope of increasing the number of independent Lutheran
Congregations.
HOW CAN YOU HELP
1. Equip us with Lutheran Literature
2. Help us to have the translation of the above books.
3. Support us to print and publish the above books in
native language.
4. Sponsor to conduct the seminars, discussions,
training programmes and crash courses
5. If it is possible for you to come and conduct the
crash courses and seminars in the Luther Study Centre
it will be very helpful for us.
6.Our rural congregations are so poor and are unable
to support the pastors. If you can adapt some of these
congregations it will be very helpful for the growth
of the Lutheran Fellowship.
We need your prayers .Your prayer is the foundation of
our success. Please pray for us. Share your spiritual
experiences. We will be strengthened by our spiritual
experiences. Please send books,magazines,tapes and
other Lutheran material if you can. Sponsor a pastor
or a programme if it is God’s will and if you have
such provision .Please remember our ministry and give
a helping hand to strengthen us.
Thanking you
Yours in His service
